The construction of City Point Capital’s new Cambria Suites at South Boston’s Broadway Station will bring new life to an active transportation node located adjacent to the I-93 N/S Expressway and Broadway. The 14-story hotel will feature 156 rooms, a second floor outdoor patio, ground level retail and dining space, a rooftop bar and pool and two levels of underground parking.
The mixed-use hotel and retail space will transform the existing site–which was formerly a gas station and vacant lot. Construction will be managed directly adjacent to another active construction site. The project scope includes deep pile foundations and construction of a cast-in-place, post tension concrete building. The exterior will consist of a unitized panel system and glass curtain wall. Logistics to prevent impacts on the urban high traffic area will be essential to ensuring pedestrian safety.
