Project Overview

  • Managed a multi-phased project including demolition and abatement around a fully operational school
  • Ensured seamless integration of systems and building envelope between existing school and the addition
  • Safely engaged students in “living classroom” learning opportunities

Originally constructed in 1972, the 198,000 sq. ft. Bay Path Regional Vocational High School underwent a full-scale renovation to bring the building up to today’s educational standards. It presently serves 1,100 students grades 9-12 and offers courses for post-graduates.

Project scope included abatement, demolition, building envelope upgrades, replacement of M/E/P systems and renovations to classrooms and administration space. A new, 50,000 sq. ft. addition houses science labs, classrooms, vocational shops and administration areas.

The school remained fully occupied during construction, requiring sophisticated phasing and logistics planning to ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors. Project is targeting LEED Plus certification. The project achieved Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA-CHPS) standards.
