MILFORD, MA – At its annual Breakthroughs in Education event Breakthrough Greater Boston presented Consigli Construction Co., Inc. with its “Community Award,” recognizing the company’s work to support children in need.
“We’re proud that our work in the community goes beyond the construction of buildings and thank Breakthrough Greater Boston for this tremendous recognition,” said CEO Anthony Consigli. “From our holiday toy and food drives to our work to support educational programs like Breakthrough Greater Boston, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children and are honored to receive this award.”
Founded in Cambridge in 1992, Breakthrough Greater Boston is a year-round, tuition-free program that offers six years of academically intensive out-of-school time services to highly motivated, traditionally under served middle and high school students.
Established in 2001, the mission of the Consigli Foundation is to directly impact the health, education and well-being of disadvantaged children. This year alone, the foundation raised more than $150,000 in donations for the Cambridge Family and Children’s Service, Science from Scientists in Worcester, Project Giving Kids in Boston, The Gray House in Springfield and Camp Susan Curtis in Connecticut.
Aside from the foundation, Consigli employees participate in several community service opportunities every year. Last month, Consigli employees joined Boston Cares, the largest volunteer agency in New England, to build more than 40 beds for toddlers. Employees also volunteered at a radiothon for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield and rebuilt playgrounds during Working for Worcester day in April.
