Project Overview
- 3-story addition built atop a Landmark protected building—and restoration of the century old car garage
- Simultaneous structural steel and cast-in-place concrete installation
21W20 Flatiron is an ultra-luxury residential development with 13 full-floor homes located in the heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Rising to the tenth floor, the building then unfolds to reveal four penthouse homes perched atop the neighboring restored, Landmark protected structure. Each of the expansive penthouse homes have private terraces and floor-to-ceiling southern exposure.
The building’s façade is a contemporary balance of blackened stainless steel, glass and stone. The building itself is a bit of a hybrid with two distinct structural elements—the tower portion is a concrete reinforced superstructure and the 3-story addition built atop the Landmark protected, century old car garage is a structural steel building. 21W20 Flatiron also boasts a must-see outdoor garden, adjacent to the lobby lounge, that is meticulously landscaped with seating/dining areas centered around a beautiful fireplace.
